Have questions? We have answers!
1. What should I bring with me on the boat?
Sunscreen, hat/visor, camera, sunglasses (polarized cut the glare on the water and may help you catch more fish!), comfortable non-marking shoes/flip flops, and clothes fit for boating.
2. Where do we go?
Some of the best spots that I go to are conch reef, alligator reef, Eagle Wreck, Davis Reef, and backcountry.
3. What might I see besides fish?
Pelicans, frigates, dolphins, turtles, stingrays, sharks, and jellyfish. It's very rare, but whale sharks have been spotted as well.
4. What tackle do you use?
I use anything from small spinning rods to large Penn and Shimano conventionals. I also have a variety of electric reels.
5. What bait are we going to use?
I use artificial and live bait.
6. How do I avoid getting seasick?
Taking any seasickness pill (I recommend Dramamine) the night before your trip and that morning. You also want to make sure you get plenty of sleep, stay well hydrated, do not consume excessive amounts of alcohol, and do not eat greasy foods the day of the trip.
7. What type of fish do you catch?
Here are a few of the different types: cobia, snapper, snook, tarpon, sailfish, swordfish, grouper, tilefish, mahi mahi (aka dolphin), wahoo, tuna, permit, kingfish, amberjack, barracuda, and hogfish.
8. How do I book a charter?
Please book online using our online reservation service. We will need your full name, phone number, email address, credit card number or check for deposit, and dates/times requested.
9. What if the weather is bad the day of the trip?
Safety is my biggest concern, and I will make the call the morning of the trip or day before. I base my call on the NOAA weather reports. If the weather keeps us from going out you will not be charged your deposit. If you decide not go out and the weather allows us you WILL be charged your deposit.
